The last little while I have been getting asked the question
over and over again…why no more broncs for me at the WRCA Championship bronc
ride this year?
It’s pretty dang simple,
It all comes down to my hands.
I love making music and playing the guitar and singing more
than anything….it’s how I make my living, it’s why I am so happy!
Getting to do what I love everyday is the most amazing
blessing I can imagine. Climbing on a bronc (and sometimes staying on) is right
up there on the fun level for me….one of the most wonderful things in life, but
also one of a things I just shouldn’t do right now with how busy I am with my
music and traveling.
I had so much fun while I was riding, but right now my life
is really focused on my music and trying to make nicer horses rather than
buckers!
The whole fingers-all-pointing-the-wrong-direction thing
really actually made it hard to play my big bodied Gibson Guitar for a while as
well, I didn’t want to admit it-but it took a little work to play crooked…which
is now straight to me!
So in answer to everyone’s questions, nope. I won’t be
getting on a bronc this year in Amarillo. I will however be cheering on every
girl that is riding, and helping a few on while being a loud crazy cheerleader
behind the chutes…and then I’m gonna open for one of my most favorite bands in
the whole world (Reckless Kelly) and I’m so dang excited about that I can’t
even see straight!
I love all of you and can’t wait to hopefully see you May 25th
in Amarillo.
I love Texas so much-it always feels like I’m heading home
in a way when I head south….not to mention the style and food they have down
there!
xoxo

We still love you Ms. Adrian, I quit ridin em too! As exciting as it is to watch you ride, I would rather listen to you for a long, long time. Gary

ReplyDeleteHehe. Every time I hear "Seven Nights in Erie" it reminds me of you! Love reading your blog — keep up the creating ;)
ReplyDeleteWe're waiting to see if we have the dates off, but a return to Amarillo might be in the cards for my fiance and I later this month. Nothing wrong with a little bit of Texas and a lot of broncs! Not to mention we love your music and would love to see you perform :)
