If you're looking for pictures of roping, broncs or singing...this blog isn't going to be your cup of tea.
However, it has something to do with the one thing that ALL of those three things have in common for me.
Red Lipstick.
I believe in splurging in a few things in life. Those being guns, gear, guitars-and a good red lip color.
So you can just imagine how excited I was when my big sister came back from NYC with tales of crazy adventures, wearing a new pair of oxfords and bearing a gift of monumental proportions for me.
My first Chanel Red lipstick.
I've worn red lipstick since Lizzy gave me a little bag of make-up when I was 13 and demanded that her extremely tom-boyish little sister start trying to look like a girl. I hated it all except the red lipstick.
I heard my Grandfathers story of eating dinner with Marilyn Monroe when he was young-and the thing that stood out to him was her red lip color. I watched Greta Garbo and Mea West shock the screen with vampy red lips, and read about women down through history finding ingenious ways to stain their pretty pouts with color and I decided maybe not ALL make-up was bad.
Red lipstick was a staple for me riding broncs, still is for me on stage..and if you're too tired to do anything with your face at camp when you're dusty and dirty, it only takes a minute to slap on and turns your whole day around....I swear it helps me rope better.
Don't underestimate the power of the all-powerful red lipstick, and girls....Chanel is the way to go!
