Yesterday, something horrible happened in Boston, and I don't even know what to say to express how much I'm hurting for everyone that was affected.
I can't pretend to know what it must feel like to have lost someone, or have a loved one hurt from the explosions, and I hope that they know how much we are hurting for them and that they are in our prayers.
Without getting into all of the reasons, who did it, why and how....let me just ask you to do something tonight.
Before you get into bed, be thankful. Think of one thing that happened today to you that you are thankful for.
My best friend Katie who is the National Beef Ambassador was in Boston at the Marathon, and by God's grace-her Beef team left about 30 minutes before the explosions.
Earlier in the day, she had posted photos of runners and all the excitement that had been happening on the streets.
When my family and I heard the news of the blasts my heart sank. It was one of those sickening moments that you feel that the world has stopped turning.
But then finding out that she and the rest of the team were safe-was like a huge weight had been lifted and crying with relief didn't seem like an overreaction.
This post has nothing about roping, horses or cowboy music.
But to me, today-it is important.
Because God blessed us by not letting someone who means so much to so many of us, to not be taken away or hurt by the horrible things that were happening.
She is one person, but she is safe.
And today, I am thankful for the fact that I am not one of those mourning the loss of a loved one.
I am thankful and I hope you are too for those loved ones who are safe.
xoxo

Glad Katie is safe and well, I can only imagine how scared all of the people who had friends and family over there, were. I have been praying for all of those affected.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said, and thank the Lord that your friend and so many others were safe an sound. My heart is broken for those that lost something in this stupid, senseless tragedy.
